Border Clubs Square Off In Toronto

A long tradition of NFL games in Canada will continue when the Bills take on the surging Seahawks December 16 at Rogers Centre.

The week 15 matchup between the 8-5 Seahawks and the 5-8 Bills will be the 23rd time Canada has hosted a game involving NFL teams.

The Bills have a 4-5 all-time record in Canada, including all exhibition, NFL pre and regular season matches.

The Seahawks are 0-1 on Canadian soil, having lost 24-21 to the San Francisco 49ers in a 1998 exhibition game in Vancouver.

Prior to official NFL pre and regular season games in Canada, NFL teams travelled to Canada in order to take on their Canadian Football League counterparts.

During the 1950s and 60s NFL teams squared off against CFL teams on eight different occasions (typically a combination of rules from both leagues were used). In the most recent of these games the Bills were defeated 38-21 by the CFL Ti-Cats in Hamilton.
