Ontario Bound

After three weeks in the football hotbeds of Quebec, the NFL on Campus interactive tour enters Ontario.

In total the National Football League is visiting nine university campuses in Ontario and Quebec this fall to support and celebrate Canadian University (CIS) football.

On Saturday September 21, after three weeks of meeting passionate fans in Quebec (see photos below), NFL on Campus will visit Ontario’s Carleton University, where the NFL will help the school celebrate the return of football after a 15-year hiatus.

The interactive NFL experience, beside Keith Harris stadium, will open at approximately 10:30 a.m. on the 21st and will include authentic NFL Draft Combine tests (measuring vertical and broad jumps against NFL stars), a Lambeau Leap photo opportunity and NFL kick n’ pass and Bungee Run zones.

“We are proud to help Carleton celebrate the return of Homecoming football, and to help Canadian university programs in general raise their profiles,” said Dan Quinn, Managing Director, NFL Canada.

Each NFL on Campus visit also includes a $4,000 donation to the intercollegiate football program.

Over the past three years the program has contributed more than $50,000 directly to Canadian University football programs.

Starting on Wednesday September 18, Carleton students will have the opportunity to win prizes and try out the latest Madden NFL game from EA Sports when they visit the NFL on Campus zone (Residence Commons and University Centre Galleria).

The NFL has also been working with Carleton on an NFL on Campus flag football league, which includes free jerseys and will culminate with half-time games and skills competitions (Punt Pass Kick) on the 21st.

“Our goal with this program is to celebrate football,” added Quinn. “NFL on Campus will offer the Carleton community and students a fan-friendly atmosphere that not only allows us to meet and talk with local NFL fans, but also helps raise the excitement level for Ravens football.”
